Sleep apnea
Sleep Apnea is a sleep disorder where the patient’s breathing stops and starts repeatedly during sleeping.
Symptoms
Symptoms of Sleep Apnea include loud snoring, episodes of breathing cessation, awakening with sore throat or dry mouth, difficulty staying asleep, morning headache, attention problems, irritability, forgetfulness, excessive sleepiness during daytime, and mood disturbances such as depression or anxiety.
Prevention
Some lifestyle changes can help reduce symptoms of Sleep Apnea. Those include losing weight, quitting smoking, avoiding alcohol, sleeping pills and sedatives (especially before bedtime), exercising regularly, avoiding intake of caffeine and heavy meals and maintaining regular sleeping hours.
