Dr. Asif Imam completed his graduation from Dow Medical College, Karachi in the year 1976. He went on to do his postgraduate training in the United States where he received a certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine after completing his residency program in the Internal Medicine.
After practicing general internal medicine, Dr. Asif became a part of a fellowship training program in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of California, Irvine, US. Following the fellowship, he was certified by the American Board of Allergy-Immunology and was then hired as the Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine by the University of California, Irvine. He then practiced in the field of Allergy and Immunology as the Director of Integrated Clinical Research for Corona (an organization responsible for conducting clinical drug trials for emerging therapies for Asthma and allergies) for twelve years in California.
